International Experience Canada (IEC)
Work & travel opportunities for youth around the globe
Whether you’re a Canadian looking to explore the world or a young traveler aiming for an adventure in Canada, our IEC services make the process straightforward.

For Canadian Citizen
Canadian citizens aged 18 to 35 can take part in IEC and access work-travel agreements with more than 35 partner countries. Successful participants receive a work permit that lets them earn income while exploring a new country and gaining valuable international experience. During your stay, you build life skills such as confidence, problem solving and intercultural communication that enhance your résumé and personal growth. Depending on the agreement, you may live and work abroad for up to two years. Popular destinations include Spain, Japan, Germany and Italy. We handle eligibility checks, application submission, health-insurance arrangements and all the details you need before departure so you can focus on the adventure ahead.

For International Youth
If you hold citizenship in one of Canada’s youth-mobility partner countries, you can apply to IEC for the opportunity to live and work in Canada for up to two years. Through three streams, Working Holiday, Young Professionals and International Co-op, you can fund your travels, gain career-building experience or complete an academic internship as part of your studies. We guide you from eligibility assessment and profile creation through invitation rounds, permit application and health-insurance setup so you arrive fully prepared for your new chapter.
